Graveside service for William A. "Bill" Brosang, 82, of Tyler will be held on Saturday, October 19th, at 10:30 A.M. at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Tyler, Texas with Dr. David Dykes and Dr. Ron Wells officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Michael Brosang with Brosang Family Funeral & Cremation Services.

Mr. Brosang passed away on Monday, October 7th in Tyler, Texas. He was born on May 16, 1942, in Euclid, Ohio, to William A. and Gladys Allsopp Brosang.

Bill grew up in Euclid, Ohio, just outside of Cleveland where he attended Nobel Elementary through the third grade. Then, starting in fourth grade Bill attended Mt. Gallitzin Catholic Academy, in Baden, Pennsylvania, until the eighth grade. He graduated from Farrell High School, in Farrell, Pennsylvania in 1960 where he played football and the trumpet. Bill continued his education by attending Gannon College before he enlisted in the Air Force in 1962. He then married the love of his life Marilyn Rose Lipchik, on June 6, 1964, in Erie St. Peter's Cathedral. Bill and Marilyn immediately moved to San Antonio, Texas where Bill was reassigned to Lackland Air Force Base until 1966. During this time Bill attended night school and finished his business degree. He then graduated from St. Mary University with a bachelor of science degree in Business Finance.

In 1967, Bill and Marilyn moved to Houston, Texas where Bill began work as a Stock Broker. Later in 1969, Bill again transitioned and started working in sales for Hallmark Cards. Shortly after working for Hallmark Cards, Bill was assigned a new territory in Tyler, Texas. Bill and Marilyn simultaneously moved to Tyler, Texas in 1970 and birthed their first child, Bill Jr. The Brosang's made Tyler their permanent home of residency as their family grew to include Michael, Miles, and Courtney.

Bill and Marilyn started their own business in 1975, Brosang's Gifts and China in the Green Acres Shopping Center. The following year they opened a second store in the French Quarter. Additionally, Marilyn had an eye for beauty and design and in 1981 the Brosang's incorporated fresh flowers into their store. As a result, Brosang's Flowers was born in 1981. Moreover, by establishing Brosang's Flowers it made the Brosang name synonymous with flowers throughout the East Texas area. With the flower business going well, Bill and Marilyn decided to expand their business and in 2002 added Brosang's Limousine. For the next several years, the couple ran two thriving businesses.

Bill loved and was proud of his family. He welcomed eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren to his growing family. Bill instilled Christian values and a strong work ethic into his children. He was always proud of his children starting their own businesses carrying on the Brosang name and legacy: Brosang Family Funeral & Cremation Services, MB Nursery, and Courtney Holbrook Marriage & Family Therapy.

It was Bill's strong faith and his love for God that brought him life greatest joy. More than forty-five years ago he gave his life to the Lord and joined Green Acres Baptist Church. Bill and Marilyn enjoyed leading Sunday School at church, along with attending Bible Study Fellowship. Bill came to know the Lord when he was thirty-five years old when one his co-worker shared her testimony with him. Ever since Bill's conversion he, with joy, continually shared his testimony with others. Bill loved sharing his faith and brought many people to Christ including his wife Marilyn and his mother. He enjoyed sharing his testimony with anyone and everyone he met. Additionally, Bill enjoyed reading and studying God's word, and memorizing scripture. In his last days, you would see him reading the word and reciting scripture out loud. Even as his health began to fail, his faith never wavered. He continued to trust God with every step. Bill was known for his warm personality, concern for others, and his big, blue eyes.

Bill was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Marilyn and parents, Gladys and William Brosang.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons, William C. Brosang, Michael Brosang and wife Channey, and Miles Brosang; his daughter, Courtney Holbrook and husband Lonnie; his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Brosang; sister in law and spouse, Janice Howard and husband Mike, and sister in law and spouse Caroline Blum and husband Pepe. His eleven grandchildren: Michael Nelson Brosang and wife Shelby, William D. Brosang and wife Kaylin, Cayden Brosang, Matthew Brosang, Hannah Sleeper, Emersyn Brosang, Eden Holbrook, Brennen Holbrook, Max Holbrook, Addilyn Brosang, and Levin Holbrook; 3 great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Levi Brosang, and Gwyn Brosang; niece and nephews; and many more friends whom we count as family.
