It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Hunter. Hunter Lee Hopson was born February 11, 1995 to Dionne Simpson Miller and Milton Hopson. From the beginning, he was destined to race cars. His mother decorated his nursery with checkered flags, toy race cars and photos of his dad and uncle in the winner's circle. Hunter grew up dreaming of being a race car driver and being a part of the racing community and family. In the last few years that dream came true and he couldn't have been happier.
If Hunter wasn't at the race track, he was talking to someone about getting there. He shared this passion with his loving wife, Aubree and their two children, Ryker (6yr) and Rynnlee (20mo). Hunter is also survived by his mother, Dionne Miller; step-father, Nick Miller; father, Milton Hopson; brother, Harrison Hopson; grandmother, Alice Simpson and grandfather, H.E. Dickerson.
Hunter was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Vincent Simpson and RT Hopson; grandmother, Peggy Dickerson and his uncle, Ron Hopson.
He was blessed to be surrounded in life with a very close and loving family that meant everything to him, and he meant everything to them. He will be painfully missed by his dozens of cousins and most especially the cousins he was raised side by side with: Morgan Simpson Kroeplin and Jordan and Logan Botello. Also, missing Hunter is his hero, Uncle Kev (Jan Simpson), Aunt Allie (Jimmy Magness), Aunt Tonya (Justin), Aunt Sheila (Travis Pannell) and brother-in-law, Landon Villarreal.
He was loved by so many people who are now left with the precious task of keeping his memory alive for his two small children. Hunter was a gracious soul that loved helping others. He never thought twice about lending a hand to anyone, friend or stranger.
In honor of his memory, please take the time in your day or week to help someone in need, greet a stranger with a smile or joke and tell someone in your life how much they mean to you.
Hunter left us on April 5, 2025, but his spirit will linger in our hearts and minds forever.
