Eva Marie Coe

August 6, 1968 — February 18, 2025

Eva Marie Coe ("Eve") passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 in Smith County, Texas at the age of 56, to be forever in the presence of her Heavenly Father, to whom she had dedicated her entire life.

Due to Eve's expressed desire to not have a traditional funeral service, and due also to the number of people wishing to celebrate her life, her husband, Jeremy, is planning on setting up an event in the coming months in a large public venue that will be disclosed through the social media sites for their ministry.

Eve was born August 6, 1968 in Napoleon, Ohio to Leonel and Eva (Torres) Alvarez. Though she was the daughter of a pastor, Eve ran from God at an early age ... her first arrest was at 11 years old for drugs, truancy, and deadly weapons. At 17 years of age, pregnant out of wedlock, and desperate for answers, she finally surrendered her life to Jesus and got radically saved. Eve was privileged to serve in ministry for over 35 years. She has spoken in hundreds of churches, prisons, and public and private schools in half a dozen countries on three different continents, singing and ministering both in English and Spanish as well as making numerous appearances on both television and radio.

After traveling full-time for approximately ten years, Eve and her husband, Jeremy, moved to Henderson, Texas, where they founded Just As You Are Church in February 2001, a non-denominational "blue jeans and T-shirts" church. The ministry moved to Tyler as "Real Life Church" in 2013. In 2016, Eve and Jeremy sold their church building in Tyler to focus all of their efforts on prison ministry. In May 2021, Eve and Jeremy started "Real Talk," a weekly radio program designed specifically for prisoners on 23 radio stations in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Louisiana. In March 2023, "Real Talk" became "Real Vida TV," producing audio and video podcasts that "webcast" both inside and outside of prisons.

The "Real Vida TV" program has since reached millions of prisoners in every state, and has been viewed in excess of 50 million times in dozens of countries around the world. In excess of 50,000 men and women have been documented as having accepted Christ as a result of the program, and Eve became affectionately known as "Mama Eve, the mother of all prisoners." Eve will be greatly missed by her loyal audience both inside and outside the prison walls that christened themselves "Vida Nation."

Eve is preceded in death by her nephew, Anthony Byron Scott, Jr.

Eve is survived by the love of her life, her devoted husband of twenty-six years and ministry partner, Jeremy Daniel Coe of Tyler, Texas; four children, Casandra Grace Aguilar (38) and fiancée Zach Gerken of Napoleon, Ohio, Brenton Lee Coe (35) of Tyler, Texas, Jeremy Daniel Coe II (26) and his wife, Sarah Noemi Isaias Coe of Lubbock, Texas, and Raquel Belen Coe (23) of Tyler, Texas. She also has six grandchildren: Mitchell, Natalie, Josiah, Jocelyn, Damon and Navaeh. She is also survived by her father, Leonel Alvarez of Henderson, Texas; her mother, Eva Torres Alvarez of Findlay, Ohio; sister Jane Rosario and husband, Sullivan or Archbold, Ohio; brother, Richard Alvarez; sister, Maria Alvarez and husband, Frank Azok of Amherst, Ohio; sister, Alice Bower of Tampa Bay, Florida; sister, Bertha Valenti and husband, Sam of Fostoria, Ohio; and brother, Leonel Alvarez, Jr. and wife, Natalie of Germantown, Maryland. She is also survived by her husband's family, parents, Joe Dan and Janet Coe of Winnsboro, Texas and brothers, John David Coe and wife, Rachael of Winnsboro, Texas and Joshua Damon Coe and wife, K.C. of Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Gifts and flowers are not necessary, but if family and friends wish to make a contribution in Eve's honor, her greatest wish would be to continue the ministry born of her vision to reach the prisoners. Contributions may be made to Real Vida TV in the following ways:
